It was the peak hour for the freedom movement when the prominent national leaders advocating non-cooperation with the British Govt. were arrested after midnight of August8th 1942. The next day there were demonstrations all over India. Myself, a boy aged 9 years ,also took part in a programme in the midst of the City of Pune for public singing of the national anthem Vande Mataram, in spite of the ban on the same.Our dlegation was lead by the veteran leader Prof.G.P.Pradhan,whose pat on my back was such an inspiration ,that was wecome oncemore when I took part in the Goa Mukti sangram,that lead to military action for liberation of goa years later.
